Food For Thought Fridays
Christmas is tomorrow. We are going to celebrate the birth of the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
It's the night before Christmas and I can think of no better time to think about the words concerning John the Baptist in Luke chapter three.
Here the words of the voice calling out:
Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straight, and the rough places shall become level ways, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
John was crying out, "Stop running from God and start running to Him instead. Make your hearts ready for Him. You need to be rescued and guess what . . . the Redeemer is coming! Yep! Your King is coming back for you!"
As we prepare for the coming of our Rescuer as a tiny baby, don't get confused when people ask you if you are ready for Christmas.
Whether or not you have bought all your presents matters very little if your heart is not prepared to celebrate the Son of God.
Getting ready for Christmas should mean that I am making straight paths for Him.
Begin to listen to the voice coming from the wilderness and heed his advice.
Prepare your heart for the King and let Him be celebrated this Christmas.
Merry Christmas,
Wade
